Under 16's

It seems that there are a few under 16's who do want to be involved but are scared as they feel like they are too young. I personally think that there should be a day in which all the people who feel they are too young to go on their own can meet as a group of under 16's and that way we will feel more comfortable and confident in not being left out or too young to be there :)

My Experience \ Testimonial

I was one of the longest serving members and joined the group in 2005. I was a mixed up and very emotional guy with lots of problems (Emotionally and pysically) I came to the group looking for friends and ended with an extended Family! Mandy and Steve have been there for me over the years, through thick and thin and as I said somme of the members were like family to me. (Not sure if the original members still go!) Anyway, I'm 28 now (getting old and past it!) and have my own commmunity radio station, a stable home, whih Mandy and Steve knew I was so desparate for and best of all, I am well supported and happy up here by the sea in sunny Blackpool! So if this is not a good enough testimonial to say how valued and how important this group is then nothing is. I am sure Mandy and Steve can remember me dressing up as Mrs. Doubtfire, Spiderman and grilling sarnies on the BBQ with my silly chef's hat let alone working on getting funds for the group. These are fond memories I have of the time I was in the group and I do check by the website from time to time to see what you are all up to. So keep up the good work and if the council decide that saving money is best suited to trying to close you down, give me a shout and I will make em think again, as that's how strongly I appriciate the work you did and the help you gave me. For those that remember me, send my love and best wishes and you never know, if I'm down your way one day, I might pop in for one of Mandy's coffees. (as long as she doesn't have a blonde moment and that's just jogged your memory of who I am - I hope) Aaron xxxx

thinking of going

I am 22 and recently moved to York and looking to meet new people. I've seen the comment from Steve, Charlie and Simon saying that the group is mainly people younger than me. Are there many people my age who attend regularly?

Tim

Helpful

I moved to York from Brighton and found this group really freindly and welcoming. You meet such a huge range of people. It's so good to see a group for young people in York thats supports there sexuality. I wish I knew people like them when I was younger.

Hi! It's so amazing to see a group like this, which couldn't even exist in my country, and all those supporting comments. Technically, I am from outside the UK, and am going to study at the University of York. I hope to visit you guys! Thanks :)

Dan

Clearly the best one of the group?

Anybody thinking of coming along it's great, I mean, we get tea/coffee and biscuits :O plus, everyones really nice and even when we just sit and watch not very long christmas films about animals, it's still really good! Definetely worth going to =]

Oliver!

Reasons

This group is really worth spending the measly two hours a week going to! Everyone is really friendly. Pole dancing is occurring at some point in the future. There is always someone willing to help you with whatever you ask. Come along, we promise you won't regret it, even if we do nothing! We'll still be great conversation for you :)

Newbie

I found this website very useful and it helped to know that there was a group in York that I could go to. At first I was scared and unsure to go and so communticated via email. The youth workers were very friendly and eventually I built up the courage to go to a meeting. Everyone was very welcoming and it was nice to have someone listen and understand where i was coming from
